Poetry And Power
"When Replicas Ruled"
Michael Knapp

He stood there staring
Watching everyone
Like some hopeless mannequin
He pretended to know

The newspaper quoted
'There's some truth in lies'
Never speak of the old days
They'll never come back again

Their 'reasons' were failing
They said it never would end
The Replicas would help us
They even joked about death

It went on for a season
There were a few that remained
They said it never would happen
They would talk on for hours
