Poetry And Power
"Squadron (The Aircrash Bureau Part 2)"
Michael Knapp

Don't wait for shivers, 'pilot'
For fear that I am falling
Like D-day was before you
Still vaguely someone's calling

In 'skin game' plays the romance
No mirrors or their questions
In visions, eyes can render
I can only give suggestions

It's not surprising
To find my Squadron here and smiling
Always wanting
Always needing
Never leaving

If they'd laugh at me
My Squadron would defend me always
Caring always
Fighting always
Never leaving

Romance is more than 'vapour'
I see it different when I breathe
Only sirens on the corner
She makes a sign for us to leave

My warning has gone AWOL
How much more is it than I
I'll just keep it to the shadows
Jump into my plane and fly

It's not surprising
To find my Squadron here and smiling
Always wanting
Always needing
Never leaving

If they'd laugh at me
My Squadron would defend me always
Caring always
Fighting always
Never leaving

My Squadron.....
