Poetry And Power
"Drifting In A Sleep"
By Wayne Knisley

Sometimes I wonder what's the cure
I sit and think, but I'm still not sure
Is it the lack of passion in my heart
Or this awful feeling tearing me apart

The sounds I hear suspends me in time
Is it the rhythm or just the rhyme?
The words are chilling and recalls my past
In my sanctuary I've found at last

I open my eyes as I drift in a sleep
Do androids dream of electric sheep?
I try to run as they scurry
I'm helpless and stuck through all The Fury

But in my heart yes in my heart
His grasp with us I don't want to part
Some weary thoughts I don't want to prod
I pray to Gary not to God
