For quite some time, it was rumoured that one of Gary's songs,
"Dark", would
be used in the feature film "Dark City". Well, we found out a few weeks
before it was released that, alas, the song would not appear in the movie.
But it *DID* turn up on the soundtrack, which I spoze is better than a kick
in the teeth.
I wound up going to see this movie anyways, even though I knew Gary's song
wasn't in it, and even though on the surface it just didn't seem like my kind
of flick. I was extremely, and pleasantly, surprised - this is a must-see
movie. If you haven't, do not pass go do not collect $200 RENT IT NOW!
Starring Rufus Sewell, Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connelly,
and William Hurt,
it starts out looking like a weird hybrid of Casablanca and Plan Nine
From Outer Space. A man wakes up in a hotel room and cannot remember who he
is, or how the dead body wound up in the bathtub...
Oh, and by the way, the soundtrack is pretty cool too. :-) I've included
RealAudio clips of both "Dark" and another Numanesque track called
"Sleep Now" by Hughes Hall.
